La Tinaia Artists

The center for expressive activity, La Tinaia, was opened in 1975 at the Psychiatric Hospital of San Salvi. Since the provincial house (where the wine was produced for the hospital's use) was used as studio space, the group took the name la Tinaia (the vats). The initial project was for the rehabilitation of patients through creative stimulation. By now several of the artists of la Tinaia have developed a personally consistent vocabulary of form that is both complex and wide-ranging. Includes artwork by Marco Raugei and Franca Settembrini.
