Scottie Wilson
Scottie Wilson was born in 1890 in Glasgow, Scotland. Scottie ran away from school at nine and later joined the army at sixteen. He did service in India and South Africa, and later in France in World War II. He later ran a junk shop in Toronto, Canada and it was not until he was over forty when he began to draw. His intense early images portray a stylized form of struggle between destructive and creative forces.
